The Middle Plantation Civic League exists to make our community one of the most desirable places to live in Virginia Beach! It represents 437 families in our neighborhood. The Civic League holds four public meetings annually and publishes an annual membership directory.
Our neighborhood has many social activities that offer something for everyone. Our Civic League Board of Directors also has several Committees that work to continually improve our neighborhood..
Architectural Review Committee
Part of keeping our community a great place to live is enforcing the restrictions we all agreed to when we purchased our homes in Middle Plantation.
The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) educates residents on the requirements of the subdivision restrictions. It reviews and responds to requests made by residents for exterior improvements. The most common improvements that require review and approval include but are not limited to: house additions, decks, fences, gazebos, pools and sheds. Further, exterior alterations consisting solely of exterior painting do not require approval as long as the color is from a Colonial Williamsburg color palette.
ARC is also responsible for contacting residents after a complaint or notification has been received concerning possible violation of a restriction(s).
Please read the deed of restriction summary here .
Specific restrictions for specified lots: You will need to know your lot number to find the correct Restrictions.
The Beautification Committee, along with our landscaper and neighbor, Stuart Clarke, work to enhance the appearance of our neighborhood entrances. Please remember, it is every resident’s responsibility to keep our neighborhood clean. Please clean up any litter and, as a reminder, there are ‘doggie bags’ at the corner of Little Neck and Harris Roads to clean up your pet’s waste. However, it is not a drop off point for someone else to pick up! Please dispose of it properly.
The Membership Committee works to collect the annual dues in a timely manner.
After the annual dues campaign, they then compile, print and distribute the directory.
The Social Committee organizes neighborhood events including the Children’s Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Parade and the family Block Party. Please contact the Social Committee Chairperson(s) if you have any questions or are interested in helping with any of these fun, family events.
We are always looking for volunteers with ‘fresh ideas’ to increase neighborhood participation.
The Welcoming Committee shares the gift of hospitality and welcomes newcomers to our neighborhood. If you are a current resident and know of a new neighbor, please contact the Welcoming Committee so they may deliver a welcome gift and neighborhood directory.
The Middle Plantation Women’s Club is a social group that coordinates a variety of fun activities for its members. The activities are designed for the ladies of Middle Plantation to socialize and make new friends in their community! They are always in need of volunteer hosts, co-hosts and homes to make these events come to life.
