MPCL Website Update
The BIG NEWS is that a
member's only site is UP & RUNNING and can be accessed from our
home page. Here we have an online AND UP TO
DATE directory, plus a register for MP kids who do yard work,
babysit, dog walk, and other mundane chores. Paper
directories - which are out of date the moment they're printed -
will be available to members.
If you have ANY THOUGHTS, IDEAS, OPINIONS,
SUGGESTIONS, etc. on HOW TO MAKE YOUR WEBSITE MORE RELEVANT AND
VALUABLE, an email to FEEDBACK is all you have to
do. We do need your input and value your comments.
MP Deed and Covenant Restrictions
Middle Plantation has Deeds and Covenants which outline the do's
and don'ts of what you can and what you can't store on or do to
your property. Please take a few minutes to look over these
guidelines to ensure your compliance. Your neighbors and the
Civic League will appreciate it. These Deeds and Covenants
can be found in the front of the current Directory.
Remember that these rules were part of what you agreed to at the
closing of your house with your lawyer.
Violation Letter Update & Information
A new violation letter has been adopted by the Board of
MPCL. Anyone in violation of the restrictions of the Deeds
and Covenants of Middle Plantation will receive this letter as a
warning. You will then have 2 weeks to correct the
situation. If the situation has not been rectified, you will
receive a registered letter from the Middle Plantation Civic League
attorney. I encourage everyone to familiarize themselves with
the restrictions for Middle Plantation. A copy of these
regulations can be found n the front of the Middle Plantation
Directory. In addition to keeping the aesthetic beauty of our
neighborhood intact, you will also be a good neighbor to those
around you.

Keep your yards looking good!
SUMMER is here & grass and shrubs are growing like
weeds, which are growing too. So please keep your yards
trimmed. If your neighbor is ignoring his/hers, please
politely suggest that they help maintain our neighborhood
standards. Curb appeal is worth millions!!

Neighborhood Reminders...
Yard Debris Bags With grass
clippings, falling leaves, storm debris, nor'easter residue,
and trimming bushes and lawns, this again can become an
issue. Yard debris waste pickup (in clear plastic bags)
is managed by the City. There are weight &
quantity restrictions. This is not covered in our
recorded restrictions and MPCL cannot act on
any violations to the city's policy. We will ask
that you respect your neighbors by placing the bags out at the
appropriate time and in the appropriate quantities.
Pet Clean Up Residents must clean up
after their pets. The handy plastic bags that the Virginian
Pilot and Wall Street Journal arrive in are excellent receptacles
for your use.....and they're free with your subscription!
SCOOP THE POOP!
Streetlights. Please ensure that
your streetlights are working properly. If not, get the
serial number from the post and contact Dominion Power.
SLOW down! Please remember we have lots of kids
in our community. At a recent MPCL meeting, a
representative from the VBPD spoke with us about this problem and
offered his suggestions on "Traffic Calming" and other
alternatives. So WATCH YOUR SPEED! When you least
suspect it, radar may find YOU! Don't forget those
RED OCTAGONAL SIGNS too. They are not YELLOW
TRIANGLES. They convey a specific order, not a request or a
suggestion. Rolling through one could be very
costly.......
Thanks for doing your part to
help make our neighborhood great!

Vandalism
can happen anywhere, any time. If you see anything or anyone
suspicious - please call the Virginia Beach Police dept
immediately at 757-385-5000. There has been
a rash of thefts from UNLOCKED CARS generally between 2am - 4am
according to our VBPD liaison. One technique is to use a
garage door opener FROM THE UNLOCKED CAR to gain access to the
garage (and potentially the house's interior) and then steal
whatever they find.
KEEP YOUR CARS PARKED OUTSIDE LOCKED!!!!
They're an easy mark for bored kids or impecunious
adults.
